Father murdered yet EE pastor presses on

“Wow” Moments

We have experienced more breathtaking and stunning "wow" moments in this ministry than the number of palm trees in Florida. And it all stems from why EE people do what we do. We do this wonderful, gripping, heart-changing work because we are compelled by the love of Christ. Job said in Job 32:18:

"For I am full of words, and the spirit within me compels me."

The only thing I might have added to that verse is an exclamation point!

The EE Gospel presentation makes this very clear: We share the Gospel out of gratitude for what Jesus did for us. Compelled! So we train people to share their faith, and they go. And when they go, the "wow" moments begin to multiply fast.

It wasn't long ago when we conducted an unprecedented EE training session in Iraq. For obvious security reasons, it was held undercover, yet there was on-the-job training (OJT). The pastors and lay leaders went boldly into what were life-threatening situations, quite unlike our OJT trips to the mall or the Laundromat in the States. That risk alone qualifies for a "wow" moment. But it's what happened after the training ended that really shocked me -- after the lights were turned off, the materials packed up, and EE teachers returned to their home countries.

In the area where the training occurred, word spread about this Gospel outreach, and some radical extremists paid a visit to the EE pastor's house, murdering his father on the spot. No questions were asked. The killers got away with this cold-blooded act of violence.

The torturous grief some EE pastors and leaders pay for their commitment is beyond anything I can imagine. Yet, in spite of the pain that this pastor and his family endured, he continues to train people to share their faith and to go out and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And that dedication forces me to say, "wow!" It's obvious that the love of Christ compels him.

Reliable supply lines for these EE pastors are critical as they put their lives on the line. Please don’t hesitate helping them by becoming a Member of the Committee of 1000 or the Great Commission Fund. These two partnerships are designed to help honor you in the important role you play on the front lines helping pastors with critical financial support.

Pastors can’t do what they do without a reliable income source. EE’s income fluctuates dramatically every month and some months there aren’t any resources. Can you imagine the increased risk that takes place when their financial resources dry up in the middle of spiritual warfare in a climate like Iraq?

Are you compelled by the work of Christ? Then please help provide the financial security that these EE pastors need to continue. Honoring what you have done, you will receive the benefits of becoming a member of the Committee of 1000 or the Great Commission Fund.

As you learn of the “wow” moments that impact others for Christ because you helped, you will be on the front lines of a Heavenly rejoicing! Become a member today.
