Even a Little Goes a Long Ways

Money goes a long way in third world countries when it is wisely spent. What is regarded as modest sums can make a significant difference in the lives of these very needy EE families. Even a few thousand dollars can feed a family for a year with supplies of consumables like maize, beans, meat, rice, fish, sugar, and salt. This includes common household items such as mosquito nets, kerosene, and soap and also covers valuable social services, education for the children, and preventive medical treatment for malaria and diarrhea.

A gift of $2,500 to each of these families would help supply them with life-saving necessities for several years, and gives them time to plan and eventually implement changes to survive for the long haul.
